Knowing About Memphis-Part 3 Education

Next topic of knowing about Memphis is educational attainment. A couple maps pretty much sum up the disparity between Black Memphis and White Memphis, but first up is percentage of population over the age of 25 with an associates degree. Associate's degrees are much more evenly distributed through out the county except for the urban core and Frayser.

Next up are Bachelor's degrees. This is a truly stunning map.

The third map is related to the "creative class". This is percentage of population 25 to 34 with Bachelor's degrees. How much have we invested to make those few tiny census tracts downtown green? What is even more distrubing that isn't shown here is the difference between male and female 25 to 34 year old's with Bachelor's degrees. The vast majority of those 25 to 34 year old people with Bachelor's degrees in Black Memphis are female.
