Charging Victims of Rape for Medical Exams in Wasilla

Alaska has the highest rate of sexually assault of women. Knowing that, the female mayor of Wasilla might be sympathetic to victims of rape, but she wasn't. The town was the only one in Alaska that charge victims of rape for medical exams. The policy was so bad in Wasilla, the Alaskan State legislature passed a law banning this. Palin could could have changed this policy because she hand picked the sheriff, but she didn't. Positive change only happened because the state legislature intervened. Read the article here
