Call Them Out Congressman Cohen

I saw the CSPAN clip of Cohen making his speech about the hate crimes bill. Although it was simple and to the point, Cohen has to do more here in Memphis. Congressman Cohen you have to call out these preachers. I understand that you will be having a Methodist preacher come and talk about the bill. That’s good, but here is what else you have to do. Have a public forum with the Methodist preacher and a constitutional lawyer. Also have a powerpoint with the exact wording of the bill, so everyone in the audience can read it. Then invite Liasimba Gray and a representative of the American Family Association to the event to be members of the discussion panel. Chances are they wouldn’t show up, but when you send out the press release about the forum make sure that it notes Gray and the AFA were invited to participate. Have their empty seats and name plates on the stage of the forum anyway. Finally, film it all and post it on YouTube. If you don’t crush this falsehood into dust you will be dealing with it next year during the campaign. You want to break fear mongering demagogues, call them out and let everyone see they are cowards themselves and full of shit.
