More Tinker Information
This week I heard the Steel workers donated money to Tinker's campaign. That kind of shocked me. I guess they didn't know Tinker used to work for a law firm, Ford & Harrison, that fought against unions and labor or that she works for a subsidiary of Northwest Airlines that recently broke its mechanics union. Here's what I have written about Tinker before.
But know I hear about this. Oh Nikki, say it ain't so. Tell us that you didn't take a $1,000 contribution from former local GOP leader Brad Martin. Who is Brad Martin? He is the CEO of Saks Fifth Avenue. You know that department store 90% of 9th congressional district constituents can't afford to shop at. He's also a long time friend of Bob Corker. The same Bob Corker running for Senate against Harold Ford Jr. In fact Martin isn't just a friend he's actiely fundraising for Corker. Here's a Memphis Flyer article. http://www.memphisflyer.com/memphis/Content?oid=oid%3A71
"Corker is, however, busy making up for that shortcoming. He was in Memphis Monday night for a well-attended fund-raiser at the home of high-stakes entrepreneur Brad Martin." How much loyalty does Tinker have. Doesn't she claim to have been Harold Ford Jr's campaign manager? Now she is taking money from a major supporter of one of the republicans running against Ford. You can't have it both ways, playing up your relationship with Ford and then taking money from his opponent. Unless of course, you're not actually a democrat. Tinker is taking on JW Gibson for the title of biggest republican posing as a Democrat.
But in case you doubt Martin and the Saks 5th avenue PAC are true red republicans, lets look at a little more of Martin's Republican leanings. Here's a story in the Commercial Appeal:

First lady Laura Bush was the guest of honor at a fund-raising luncheon last Friday hosted by Dina and Brad Martin at Brad's office.
"Brad has met the Bushes on a couple of occasions," Dina said. "We were glad to do it." Dina is host of "Mid-South Living," which airs on WREG-TV Channel 3. Brad is chairman and CEO of Saks Inc.
Martin also likes to help out moonbat republicans like Marsha Blackburn. Check out this story:

HEADLINE: FUND-RAISER EXPLOITS SAKS APPEAL
BYLINE: Richard Locker locker@commercialappeal.com
BODY:
If you were disappointed because U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn's $1,500-a-person golfing fund-raiser in Hilton Head, S.C., was canceled, don't fret: For a mere $1,000 contribution you can join her for "a weekend of shopping, dining and entertainment" in New York City.
The trip includes an evening cocktail reception and a day at Saks Fifth Avenue, where you'll be treated to a fashion show, spa services, personal shopping and a private luncheon....
Saks chairman Brad Martin of Memphis, a former Tennessee Republican Party chairman, could not be reached for comment Friday....
Although political candidates routinely hold out-of-state fund-raising events, the offer of a weekend of shopping, entertainment and dining with the member of Congress 1,000 miles away in New York City is unusual by Tennessee standards.
It was also a new one on Morgan E. Felchner, associate editor of Campaigns & Elections magazine. "I have never heard of a candidate offering a fashion show as a fund-raiser," he said.
Wow, I hope Mr. Martin lets Tinker have a fashion show too. Superficiality is what Tinker excells at.
But Martin also has the Saks INC. corporate PAC. Here's how Saks INC gives.
Saks inc 2004: 7% to democrats 93% to republicans
Biggest recepients:
Bachus, Spencer (R-AL) $3,000
Blackburn, Marsha (R-TN) $2,600
Alexander, Lamar (R-TN) $6,500
Saks INC 2002: 19% to democrats 81% to republicans
Alexander, Lamar (R-TN) $2,000
Saks INC 2000: 22% to democrats 78% to republicans
Frist, Bill (R-TN) $3,000
Sessions, Jeff (R-AL) $1,000
Shelby, Richard C (R-AL) $1,000
So it's not just that Saks is republican, but it's trending even harder to the right and giving more. Plus, Martin is CEO, he's not directing and allowing these donations. Please.
Ms. Tinker if you did take $1,000 from Mr. Martin, please return it and apologize to Harold Ford Jr and all his democratic supporters.

Sorry I couldn't kink to my previous post about Tinker. Just type "Tinker" in the search bar of this blog at the top of the screen.

If you were trending as hard and far right as this guy is, then wouldn't you have a vested interest in making sure the piss poorest candidate on the Democratic ticket had a good chance of getting the nomination?

Yeah, the candidates that would sell out their constituents. The 9th must elect anybody but Tinker.

Is Ed Stanton still in the race? I passed by his headquarters next to the Kroger by the UofM and it was closed and dark. I was just wondering if he had dropped out.
