When Will Someone Ask If The Bush Administration Spied On The Kerry Campaign?

This NSA spying case is bothering me because opponents to the program haven't related what this means to average Americans erosion of liberty. What happens if the NSA mistakenly starts spying on you? What if your personal information gets shared with people who have no oversight? There are dozens of more questions like this. Here is the definition of liberty:

Liberty, or freedom, is a condition in which an individual has immunity from the arbitrary exercise of authority.

Autonomy: immunity from arbitrary exercise of authority: political independence

So let's get to the $64,000 question about this spying case. Did the Bush Administration eavesdrop on the Kerry campaign and Democratic Party in 2002 and 2004? Do you really think Karl Rove wouldn't use this tool if it was at his own disposal. Bush was willing to force a vote on the war in the House and Senate before the 2002 election. If someone is willing to politicize a vote on War, would they really have any qualms with spying on some phone calls and emails. Hell, didn't republicans get in trouble a few years ago for stealing Democratic computer files? How about John Bolton having those intercepted phone calls of fellow Americans and State department officials. Remember that during his confirmation hearing. Or how about Bush just plain stealing the 2000 election and maybe the 2004 election. If a motherfucker and his sycophants are willing to steal the presidency, I don't think he'd have any problems spying on Democrats trying to take his job or threaten his political power. Finally, didn't the Reagan Campaign in 1980 negotiate with the Iranians not to release the American hostages until after the election and Reagan was sworn into office. Damn, the republicans negotiated with the Iranians for their own political gain and it sure wasn't the last time the Reagan Administration traded with our supposed enemy. Wake up Sheeple! This administration is full of lying and cheating sons of bitches that would trample on your rights or anyone opposing them.
