Leon Gray's Obsession With Gay People
There are different types of progressives. There are old school economic progressives (Leon Gray types), social progressives (even a republican can be a one of these), and all around progressives. Now everyone is fired up because Leon Gray said so asinine things about gay people on “Progressive Talk 680.” Am I surprised he said something like this. Well, to be honest, no. He talks about school prayer and such things so I already knew he was a social conservative. That’s why I haven’t listened to 680 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., I just don’t like the religious talk.
Now, Leon Gray’s statement about gay people is just completely asinine. First, who in their right mind would choose to be gay? People are just lining up to be ridiculed, abused, and discriminated against by society, the government, and even their own families. Which is more difficult, to be black or gay in America? And God help you if you are BLACK and GAY. You are doubly screwed. Second, I think being gay is inherited. I read a study about how as a mother gives birth to sons the chances each new male child will be gay increases. So the third or fourth younger brother is more likely to be gay than the oldest son. Apparently, the Y chromosome of a male child causes an immune response in the mother which affects the physiological development of the male child. The more male children a woman has the greater the immune response. I don’t know why this happens or what evolutionary benefit there was, but I have seen cultures where this evolutionary trait may be expressed. In the Peace Corps, I lived in the South Pacific. In Polynesian culture, if a husband and wife don’t have a daughter, the youngest male child may be raised as a daughter. In Samoa, these males are called fafafina’s and in Tonga, fakaleiti’s. These male children are usually held in high regard because everyone understands they are sacrificing their own chances of having a family to help their own family. Then there is the Pashtun culture in Pakistan and Afghanistan. There was an article in Rolling Stone about American Troops fighting in Afghanistan. American soldiers were in awe of how tough Afghan fighters were. The Afghanis barely eat, had no supplies, slept outside in brutal heat and cold, and had been at war for 25 years. But what rarely freaked the American soldiers out was how gay the Afghanis were. They held hands and made statement like “women are for children, but true love can only be between two men.”
The point is that if being gay was a choice why does it seem to be in every culture and throughout history. Richard the Lionheart was gay. Alexander the Great and almost all of ancient Greece did gay stuff. Hell, modern Greece is still pretty gay. Leonardo Da Vinci was on the gay side. A bunch of catholic priests are gay and a large percentage of white males under the age of 60 who have mustaches are most likely gay. General Douglas MacArthur may have been gay. But the granddaddy of all gay historical figures is Abraham Lincoln. Holy shit Leon, your ancestors were freed by a gay man!!!! We better rewrite the history books and ignore all that stuff about being one of the greatest Presidents in American History and judge him by how his gayness hurt society. While we are doing that may be our kids can pray about it class in order to save Abraham Lincoln’s immortal soul. It is too bad Lincoln is burning in hell with Hitler just because he was gay.
Now all these holy rollers point to the story of Sodom and Gomorrah as their justification for discriminating against gays. The thing is, the version of the Bible I’ve read didn’t list sodomy in the Ten Commandments nor did Jesus make any statements about it. In fact, didn’t Jesus cure the “beloved” male hand servant of a Roman Centurion? Hello, the “beloved” male hand servant. I think in a modern translation that would be the “gay” male hand servant.
Finally, if you are all fired up about other people’s behavior that doesn’t affect you, maybe, just maybe you may have your own latent homosexual tendencies. Leon, you are kind of dandy. Always dressed up and accessorized with jewelry. How many pairs of shoes do you have? A normal straight guy really doesn’t need more than a dozen pairs of shoes. I bet your closet looks like Emelda Marcos’. The higher the number of shoes, the more likely you are gay. Are you expressing a gay lifestyle in front of the children? Now these are ridiculous statements that illustrate asinine arguments. It sucks if people turn the tables on you, doesn’t it.

Right on polar donkey. We see eye to eye concerning this guy(rarereaction.blogspot.com). You've probably have been listening longer than I. Has Leon always been like this, or is this adding God and Jesus to everything he says and touches a recent development? Thanks and check you my blog listed above.
