$25.8 Million: Herenton, You Are Incompetent

$25.8 million. Ok, I had heard that the city was bankrupt and that was the reason the city has gone through 3 CFO's recently. So Herenton, none of those CFO's told you the city was on the road to financial ruin. Well why did they quit? Maybe they did tell you and you just didn't do anything about it so they quit. Who wants to be left holding the bag for this. But let's hear Herenton's story. This is from channel 5's website:

Herenton accepted responsibility for the mistakes of finance officials who he has since replaced, blaming them for not anticipating trouble and not accounting for liabilities. But, he says, the current numbers are accurate and, he says, the problems can be patched.

"The finance division miscalculated and now what we have, we have an accurate accounting of where we are," Mayor Herenton said.

So Herenton, you say you are responsible for $25.8 million worth of miscalculations. That's one big fuck up. In fact, that is so big of a fuck up, you should resign. I think this shows how incompetent he really are. Does the city really need to suffer through anoth 2 years. For the love of God, show the people of Memphis some mercy.
