New Orleans

Hurricane Katrina is a once in a century storm. It is almost incomprehensible a major america city may be wiped from the face of the globe. I watched CNN today and I was dumbfounded to see 25,000 people being put into the superdome. People were predominantly poor, elderly, disabled, and carless. There is nothing more terrifying than being trapped in a building, pitch black, hot and filling up with water. Plus, officials said they weren't sure if the building would withstand the winds. This seems like a terrible experiment in mass hysteria, but it is real. If the Superdome survives, the city may be flooded for weeks. How are they going to get food and water there for all those people. In addition, millions of gallons of gasoline may be spilled into the flooded city and start burning on top of the water. Thousands may die.
Economically, 16% of imported goods go through the New Orleans' ports. 25% to 33% of domestic oil production is handled in the area and a third of gasoline refining is done there. This may be a biblical scale disaster felt everywhere in the US.
I don't believe in God but those of you who do may need to get busy and start praying.
